The Role of an Ambassador
An ambassador is a celebrity or public figure who can act as a figurehead for Brandon Trust. An ambassador is not a Trustee and does not have any of the legal responsibilities of a Trustee or for the management of the organisation.
The purpose of an Ambassador is to lend high-profile support to the young people and adults with learning disabilities supported by our charity. This will, in turn, support many of the charity’s functions like fundraising, campaigning, public relations, marketing and awareness-building for our cause.
Brandon Trust actively engages with a variety of public figures and will, from time to time, appoint different Ambassadors for different purposes and audiences:
-
A politician can help the people we support by giving them exposure in the world of policy-making and campaigning
-
A celebrity can increase awareness of our charity with the general public and especially with their followers, opening up new audiences from which people with learning disabilities were previously excluded
-
A scientist or expert in a particular area can lend gravitas to the our ideologies (inclusion, citizenship, independence, etc.)
-
A significant establishment figure may do all of the above
Ambassadors may support Brandon Trust by:
-
Being named on our literature and publicity material

Providing quotes for publications, websites etc.
