My Unique Life - Ordinary People, Extraordinary Lives

My Unique Life is a short film about unique individuals who have discovered their own direction in life. This is not about climbing mountains or exploring jungles; here people simply take responsibility for their own life choices. Meet Jean who has a paid job; find out about Basil's original menus. Brandon Trust is committed to supporting people to live the lives they choose - ordinary people living extraordinary lives.

Charlotte’s Story – Empowering People to have Unique Futures

Today there is a new emphasis given to the way adults with learning disabilities receive support; people are at the centre of planning their own lives. As an independent charity Brandon Trust has attracted attention for its cutting edge approach - involving individuals in creating original support options; each person has a unique future built around their particular aspirations. Charlotte's Story is special to her yet it represents how everyone has the right to determine their own way of life.

Get-In-There Project The Movie – Life in the Community

This short movie is about Get-In-There, a very special initiative coordinated by Brandon Trust as part of the Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities' Life in the Community project. The aim of the Project was to demonstrate how people with high support needs are able to make real contributions to community life. 'Get-In-There Project - The Movie' features Richard Francis, John McAlister and Sarah Selman, plus contributions from family members and others. Here are three quite different individuals. What they have in common is belief in themselves as citizens. This is their story, short and to the point; get in there and make a difference!

Hi-Tech Family

This short film demonstrates Brandon Trust’s commitment to the use of Assistive Technology. The Hi-Tech Family project is aimed at enabling families/parents who have learning disabilities to develop their parenting skills using the kind of technology relevant to their circumstances. Assistive Technology provides support mechanisms which young adults can literally ‘connect’ to. The latest mobile phones and hand held computers have an immediate resonance with the current generation of parents. This is just the beginning, technology is constantly being developed which can help individuals to gain independence whilst at the same time providing safe care and protection to their families.
