LYNN TOMAN: AREA DIRECTOR

I am a learning disabilities nurse and acting Assistant Director for the Brandon Trust and have worked within services for people with learning disabilities for 27 years, with a specific interest in supporting people that challenge services. During that time I have supported people with learning disabilities in various environments and roles and gained extensive experience of operational and project management that includes the transfer of NHS services into the voluntary sector, working in partnership with other providers and the development of bespoke services for people who communicate through their behaviours. In my current role I am charged with the reconfiguration of registered care within Bristol and the surrounding areas which will enable Brandon Trust to develop a range of flexible service options for the people we support.

What's important to me? I believe developing relationships is the crux of supporting and working with people. We need to listen and respond to individuals and ensure services are what people want. Making positive changes however small in people's lives is what matters.
