HOW WE CAN SUPPORT YOU

Brandon Trust can support you in lots of different ways. We can give you small amounts of support so that you can live in your own place or a lot more help, in a place where we have staff around all the time. We can also support you to get a job or find other things to do during the day and in the evenings.

MY LIFE, MY HOME, MY CHOICES

Lots of people want to live in a place of their own. We can support you to do this. You can choose where to live and who you live with. You can also choose who supports you.

You can learn to do more things for yourself and make important choices about your life. These are some of the things we can do to help you:

PLACES TO LIVE WITH SUPPORT FROM STAFF

Some people need to live in places where staff are there to support them all the time. Sometimes these are called 'registered care' homes. We think that Brandon Trust homes should feel happy and safe. We try to make sure that:

We think every house that Brandon Trust manages should be a real home. Here are some of the things that happen at Brandon Trust houses:

EXTRA SUPPORT

Some people need extra support in order to be included and make the most of their lives. We support lots of people who find it hard to fit in with other services.

We think that everybody can fit in with the right support. We try really hard to make things work out for them by supporting people to do the things they want to do. Enabling people to learn new skills and having the chance to do different things is important. Listening to what people want and helping them make their own plans is part of the answer to 'getting a life'. Working with friends, family and others is also important.

WORK, LEARNING AND LEISURE - THINGS TO DO DURING THE DAY

Work, Learning and Leisure helps people to find things to do during the day or sometimes in the evening. Things like: getting a job, going to college, taking up a sport, clubbing, concerts, a trip to the movies, eating out, visiting the pub, hiking, dancing, having time out with friends. Doing the things you want to do in the area where you live.

We support people to learn new things that might help them get work. We can also help people get work experience.

To help people learn about having a job we run two potteries, one in Bristol called Fired Up and one in Banwell called The Old Malt House Pottery. People also get to do gardening work at Grounds and Gardens in Bristol and also in Weston-super-Mare. Splinters in Bristol and R Wood in Weston-super-Mare are woodwork shops. We also run Elm Tree Farm and the Greenfields Centre where people grow fruit and vegetables to sell. There are animals too.
