The Sky's the Limit!
Mark moved into his own flat in the centre of Trowbridge. Brandon Trust has worked in difficult circumstances to support Mark out of registered care, in partnership with his family and Wiltshire Council. Mark has a learning disability and is on the autistic spectrum so this is a BIG, significant change for him. Now Mark’s world is opening up before him.
Carly, who supports Mark, commented:
“Mark has settled in extremely well and is enjoying living on his own; he is taking more responsibility for keeping his home together. Mark has also made his own ‘mark’ within his community. He has got to know the guy who serves him in the local shop and enjoys a bit of banter with the security guards at the shopping centres. He has joined the congregation at a local church who have all made Mark feel very welcome”.
“The next thing on the agenda for us is to support Mark to make good decisions about using his money. He hasn’t had to do this before. Mark has started using envelopes for ‘specific’ things he wants to buy and needs to pay for. Mark has recently just bought himself a model aeroplane; he is obviously feeling the sky’s the limit!!”
