Become a trustee
Are you interested in becoming a trustee?
Brandon Trust is a Bristol-based charity supporting people with learning disabilities and autism in a variety of accommodation and community settings across Southern England. We believe that all people with learning disabilities and autism should be able to live a life of freedom with fewer limitations and our mission is 'to support and enable people with learning disabilities to live the lives they choose'.
We're a dynamic charity, striving to deliver 'leading edge' and person-centred responses to those we support. We're seeking some additional trustees to join an already strong trustee board. You'll need to be an excellent strategic thinker and financially astute, to help steer Brandon through the challenging environment of austerity currently facing the social care sector.
As a member of the board you'll have a clear commitment to our mission and to upholding and enhancing the rights of people with learning disabilities. You'll understand the difference between the executive’s responsibility for management, and the board’s governance role.
- Detailed knowledge of the sector is not necessary. We want the benefit of the experience derived from your own background.
- You’ll need to commit to the equivalent of approximately 10 days per annum which will involve meetings in Bristol, London, and other areas where we work.
- The role of trustee is a voluntary one, but reasonable expenses are reimbursed.
- All trustees are subject to regulatory checks including an enhanced DBS check.
