We started supporting people with learning disabilities and/or autism in Oxfordshire in April, 2016 We currently support approximately 80 people in supported living settings in Oxford City, Bicester, Banbury, and Chalgrove. We provide support for a wide range of needs, for just a few hours through to 24-hour support. Support can be provided in the person’s home, or in the community.
Accommodation with support
We support a small number of people through this model of provision, providing high-quality care and support and taking a person-centred approach to enable individuals to meet their outcomes. We plan to move our residential services to a supported living model to continue enabling more people to have increased freedom to live the lives they choose.
Most of the people we support in Oxfordshire are supported through a supported living model. Many share their home with others and receive 24/7 shared support with additional individualised support to ensure their outcomes are met.
This type of support is delivered in or from the person's home and can be from just a few hours a week, to a varied package of support which is delivered every day, and can also include telephone support.
Many people welcome the opportunity to plan exactly when, where and how their support is delivered. We believe in enabling people to set individual goals and structure our support in a way which best meets specific needs.
Children, young people, and families
We currently support adults with learning disabilities in Oxfordshire but would like to extend our offer to supporting children and young people with learning disabilities and autism.
We’re open to discussions with families and local authority commissioners about providing regular weekly support in the family home and local community, from a few hours per week to 24/7 support, depending on assessed need.
We can design short breaks on a bespoke or small group basis, offering opportunities for the young person to spend time away from home, try new activities, increase independence, and make new friends.
