Community day support
We're pleased to be providing community day support services to adults with learning disabilities and autism in Warwickshire.
Warwickshire County Council awarded Brandon the contract to manage the Sesame Centre in Rugby and the Ramsden Centre in Nuneaton from 1 September, 2015.
We currently support 37 people who access the centres, to undertake a range of activities that promote their wellbeing, and gain new skills that enrich their lives.
The Ramsden Centre is a purpose-built day opportunities centre which offers a safe environment for people with complex needs. The range of activities include sensory-based individual and group sessions, arts and crafts, community participation, and social interaction and stimulation. Ramsden is situated about half a mile from the town centre, within easy reach of all community-based services.
The Sesame Centre is located in the heart of Rugby and offers services to a range of people with complex needs. This includes community-based sessions, independence training, sensory-based activities and opportunities to learn new skills.
Children and young people
We're looking to develop support opportunities for children and young people with learning disabilities and autism in Warwickshire, based on the models we’ve used successfully in other areas within Brandon.
We're open to talking with families and local authority commissioners about designing support for children and young people in their own homes and communities.
We can provide regular weekly support from a few hours per week to 24/7 support, depending on assessed need. Wherever possible, we'll involve the family in recruiting staff and we'll always work with the family to design support that meets their individual needs.
We can also design short breaks on a 1:1 or small group basis, offering opportunities for the young person to spend time away from home, try new activities, increase independence, and make new friends.
