A corporate partnership to remember

Christmas ChoirA fantastic total of £9,313 has been raised for Brandon Trust as a result of a partnership with Cabot Circus, who chose us as their corporate charity of the year.

The partnership with the Bristol city shopping centre began in March 2016 and continued with a busy year of events.

Among the highlights of the partnership was a Quakers Friars market event involving our social enterprises, a £5,000 grant from Cabot's management company Hammerson, a charity auction and Christmas choir plus Cabot provided a shop unit for Brandon's 'pop-up' charity shop over Christmas, which raised just under £1,000.

Volunteer GroupAlso, during volunteering days, our social enterprises benefited from the equivalent of around £6,000 in labour costs from the time Cabot staff gave our projects. Tasks carried out included extensive landscaping and constructing a new shed at Hutton Moor allotments near Weston-super-Mare.

The total helped Brandon exceed the summer camp fundraising target for 2017 and contributed to the sustainability of future camps.

The money raised by Cabot alone will fund up to ten young people with disabilities to enjoy this life-changing experience and supported activity camp where teenagers develop social skills, make new friends, build confidence, and it also gives respite to enable parents to feel refreshed.

"We want to say a big thank you for what has been an amazing year", said Brandon's Corporate Fundraiser Erin Lawton.
