300 miles for dreams to become realities
On 27 September, 2015, I was privileged to be part of a large group of motor bikers who came together to support Brandon Trust’s Dream Fund.
The start venue was Etcetera cafe in Chipping Sodbury, South Gloucestershire. After a warm welcome from host Andrew Hannah and his partner Penny, their staff set about providing us with bacon rolls, tea and coffee to fuel us up for the start of the ride out to the Ace Café, a motorcycling mecca.
Bikers love coming together for charity ride outs and this one was no exception; let’s not forget that the Ace Cafe is such an iconic venue, many bikers have it on their bucket list to visit! It's a long and at times, challenging journey, covering over 300 miles. Big up to Gary Barclay who in his 77th year, led the ride out and then led us all back home. Having known Joanne Wingate, who works for Brandon, for many years, the charity has become important for us bikers to raise funds for. Joanne is the organiser of the ride out, but unfortunately, being unwell on the day she was unable to attend. Nevertheless, the group came together, took the matter in hand, and made the trip an eventful one. It was certainly a day to remember.
We'd also like to thank Ace Cafe for their fantastic welcome. I’m already looking forward to the next ride out, which I believe is the Brandon Bikers Spooky ride out for Halloween and hope that the same, if not more, bikers turn out to support and make dreams come true!
