The fundraising year ahead

Student VolunteersThe last nine months have been amazing and the Fundraising team would like to say a huge thank you to all our wonderful supporters. Together we raised a fantastic £276,000 through fundraising, volunteering and gifts in kind.

This has made a massive difference to the people we support. You’ve helped provide a truly memorable and life-changing opportunity for the young people who attended this year’s summer camp at Woodhouse Park Scout Activity Centre in South Gloucestershire. They thoroughly enjoyed the experience and visibly grew with confidence as the week progressed. It was truly incredible to witness the displays of courage in achieving and combating personal worries and fears.

You’ve supported people like Jason to achieve his dreams and lead a life filled with freedom. Jason is a young man with autism and complex needs. His parents are unwell and on a low income. Jason is mainly non-verbal. Your support enabled us to provide sensory equipment which helps Jason to express himself.

Our Volunteer Force teams have given much-needed makeovers to services and homes of people we support. Burges Salmon kindly helped with many of these projects and, in August, Alison received a flat revamp. I've never seen a bigger smile! We also had the help of students from Bath and Bristol Universities, who volunteered at one of our social enterprises, Elm Tree Farm in Bristol. That’s them in the photo!

We continue to work as a team and try to achieve our one goal; to improve the lives of people we support. This year promises to be just as exciting as 2014, with lots of opportunities to get involved and make a real difference for people with learning disabilities and autism.
