An update for families, carers & friends - July 2021

You will all be aware that the the vast majority of the Government's COVID-19 restrictions came to an end of 19 July 2021. We want to reassure you that the measures we have in place to keep supported people safe and well remain in effect at this time. This includes the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and regular testing for staff support teams, as well as the many other infection control and risk assessment measures we have in place.

At the same time, we are committed to enabling the people we support to safely enjoy some of the freedoms that we have all missed over the last eighteen months.

Visiting is a very important part of this, and you can find our latest visiting information on our COVID-19 update page.

We are sure that many of you will also be aware of that high numbers of self-isolations are causing concern to health and social care organisations like ours. We want to reassure you that we have robust contingency plans in place in case of staff shortages caused by either a COVID-19 outbreak, or high numbers of self-isolations.

We are also closely monitoring emerging Government guidance of the relaxing of self-isolation rules for critical workers, and planning to ensure that we manage any risk around this appropriately.

Further updates

As always, we will continue to review and provide updates on the COVID-19 page of this website. Our local staff teams will be providing families and carers with detailed updates, so please contact your Locality Manager or Team Leader if you need any further information.

Alternatively, the Talk to us page sets out other ways you can provide us with feedback.
