Greenfingers at Greenfields Project

pumpkins growing at GreenfieldsThe Greenfields Project based at Lawrence Weston Farm in Bristol, is probably one of Brandon's lesser-known social enterprises. The project offers older people with learning disabilities and autism, opportunities to get involved in a variety of gardening and craft activities in a relaxed environment.

They produce all sorts of goodies including fresh fruit, vegetables, and salad, as well as wood products such as planting boxes, bird feeders, bird houses, and kindling for your winter fire. The wares are available to buy directly from Lawrence Weston Community Farm (from the Greenfields cabin on the left-hand side as you enter the Farm), and also at our charity shops in Bristol.

Get involved

Currently, the project is looking at ways to make the site more accessible to people with mobility issues and is looking for help to make that happen. Watch the video below to find out more about this fab project, what it means to the people that work there, and the different ways in which you can get involved.

There are also some spaces to join the group, so if you like the sound of it and want to join in, please email Lynne.
