New Brandon charity shop opens in Bristol
Live DJs and fashion influencers joined Bristol shoppers at the opening of Brandon’s new charity shop, its fourth in the city.
With a focus on sustainable fashion, designer and retro clothing, accessories, homeware and toys, the new shop on North Street, Bedminster, also stocks a range of unique products created by people Brandon supports at Brandon social enterprises.
Shop manager, Jenny, and assistant manager, Lotte, cut the ribbon at 221 North Street to welcome the first customers amid a party atmosphere, with live DJs getting everyone in the mood.
The BS3 community came out in huge numbers to support the event and enjoyed browsing the many vintage gems, sustainable fashion, and handcrafted items on display.
With Christmas approaching, the shelves are stocked with delightful festive ceramic decorations and gifts made by people supported at Brandon’s potteries and items made from recycled timber.
Petra Littlefair, Brandon's retail manager, explained the decision to open the new shop in Bedminster.
"We felt that the BS3 area would match our vibe,” she said. “We're passionate about shopping in a sustainable way and we know that is something a lot of locals believe in.
"It's also a fantastic way to raise our profile and raise funds to support people with learning disabilities and autism.
“We’d like to thank the BS3 and wider Bristol community for their amazing support.
“The shop is now fully open, and we look forward to welcoming you.”
