Welcome to our new strategy, Plan B

Whatever progress has been made in support and rights for people with a learning disability, it’s all too clear that people still face significant challenges throughout their lives. Health, finding suitable housing, opportunities to develop relationships and securing employment are all areas where people with a learning disability still face significant inequalities.

It’s clear that Plan A has got us so far, but a lot more needs to be done.

That’s why we’ve taken a close look at ourselves, both in terms of how we support people and the role we can play in creating a world where people of different abilities truly belong.

The result of this is our new, five year strategy: Plan B.

It’s a plan that has been designed over months of collaboration with the people we support, their families, our staff and the organisations who commission us. Its aim is that each and every one of us will recognise and respect the needs, hopes and ambitions of people with different abilities.

Plan B sets out what we will do over the next five years to create a future where we are all connected and have equal opportunities to make our choices and thrive. It’s about Brandon leading by example, driven by our purpose of working alongside people with different ability so they are able to create opportunity and feel empowered to live the life they want.

We’ve created some different ways you can find out more about Plan B including the vision, purpose and values that will drive the actions in the strategy.

We'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who contributed to Plan B. We could not have done this without your determination to get this right. This plan was co-created with you and is for you.
