Lakhvinder and Paul prepare to cycle 50 milesA team of cyclists from Vanguard Self Storage in Bristol are taking on a 100-mile cycle challenge in support of Brandon.

This is the third consecutive year that the team, led by Lakhvinder Singh and Paul Robson, is taking on their 50 Miles and Beyond challenge.

Raising the bar in 2023, the 100-mile route will offer some stunning scenery, including the beautiful Strawberry Line in North Somerset.

Personal reasons

Both Lakhvinder and Paul have personal reasons for taking on this challenge. For Lakhvinder, who has family a member who attends our Playlink scheme, Brandon was an obvious choice when looking for a charity to support. He explained:

"Brandon's play schemes have been a fantastic support and give my family some much-needed respite. This particular service has been so rewarding and I wanted to show my support and make a difference so Brandon can support other families like my own."

Paul is an uncle to four young adults who have autism. He told us:

"They are adults now and have all benefited from Brandon’s services in the past and continue to do so now. They are starting to look for employment and Brandon has been so supportive in this. One of my nephews will be taking part in the ride.

"We are proud to work for Vanguard and they actively encourage us to get involved with local charities. We are hoping to recruit more of the Vanguard team as well as some of our business neighbours, contacts, and head office team, so Vanguard really have been with us every step of the way."

Get involved

If you fancy taking on the challenge, the team is looking for cyclists to join them for all or part of the route on Sunday 13 August. Head to the 50 Miles and Beyond JustGiving page and click the 'Join the team' option in the top right-hand corner of the page.

We understand times are hard but if you are able to, please consider donating whatever you can afford. We'd love to help the team reach their target!
