We are thrilled to announce the opening of our seventh charity shop, right in the heart of Plympton, Plymouth. The doors officially opened on Wednesday 29 April, and the response from the local community was nothing short of incredible.
The energy outside the shop was fantastic from the very start, with a long queue of customers gathering before opening time, eager to explore the newest addition to our Devon and Cornwall charity shops.
Katie, who is supported by Brandon in Plymouth, keenly volunteered to cut the ribbon and announce the new shop open!
More than a charity shop
Our new Plympton shop builds on our commitment to sustainability, with eco-friendly fixtures, recycled bags, and thoughtful design choices that reduce environmental impact. But what truly sets our shops apart is our mission to be more than a charity shop.
Across Brandon Trust shops and social enterprises, we proudly employ autistic people and people with learning disabilities. Meaningful work helps people to build confidence, learn new skills, and thrive in supportive, inclusive environments.
With this new shop, we’re excited to bring that impact to the Plymouth community – joining our established shops in Falmouth, Bristol, and Chipping Sodbury, and creating more opportunities for people to grow and be valued.
Warm welcome for first shop in Devon
Ella, our Plympton shop manager, shared her reflections about opening day.
