The town’s thriving mix of locals, students, and visitors creates a brilliant audience for our sustainable, purpose-led retail shops. Falmouth is the perfect place for us to echo the success that we’ve seen in our Bristol-based shops. It’s a place where our shop can truly thrive not just as a retail space, but as a centre for inclusion, creativity, and community engagement.

What makes our Falmouth shop unique?

This is our first charity shop in Cornwall – and it’s designed to stand out. With a boutique-style layout, elevated fittings, and a sleek modern feel, it offers a fresh take on second-hand shopping.

But what truly sets us apart is our commitment to sustainability: from fixtures and hangers made from ocean waste and recycled plastics, to responsibly sourced materials throughout, this is our most environmentally conscious shop yet.

Helen Eaton, our office coordinator, attended the opening and shared her experience:

“The atmosphere was wonderfully busy and buzzing, with significant positive feedback circulating all around. They even opened an hour early, as so many people were keen to come in! The shop definitely achieves the goal of being ‘Not your Average Charity Shop.’ It looks more like a modern boutique!”

Meet the Falmouth Team

Shop manager, Siku cuts the ribbon to open Brandon's Falmouth charity shopWe’re proud to introduce our new Falmouth charity shop manager and assistant manager, Siku and Sam. Sam shared his excitement ahead of the launch.

“I’m super excited to get our doors open and showcase our fantastic range of clothes. From high street favourites, to designer pieces all offered at affordable prices.

“The phrase ‘Not Your Average Charity Shop’ truly holds its own here. I really do believe the people of Falmouth will be just as excited as I am. Every purchase helps to support such a fantastic cause, and that’s what makes it worthwhile.”

What you’ll find – and why it matters

Inside our new shop, you’ll discover an eclectic mix of fashion, accessories, jewellery, homeware, and books all curated by our retail team. Every item is chosen with care, creating a shopping experience that’s both stylish and meaningful.

You’ll also find beautifully handcrafted pieces from our social enterprises in Bristol and Weston-super-Mare, made by the talented artists we support at Brandon.

The impact of your donations

Like all our charity shops, the Falmouth store raises vital funds to support Brandon’s work, from providing supported living to enabling autistic people and people with learning disabilities to live life the way they choose.

Finding a rewarding job can be challenging, and for the people we support, it’s often even harder. By shopping, volunteering, or simply spreading the word, you’re helping us create more opportunities and brighter futures.

Our goals go far beyond retail

The Brandon retail team outside Falmouth charity shopOur goals for the Falmouth shop go far beyond retail. We want to build strong local connections by taking part in community events and pop-ups, while raising awareness of Brandon and creating a visible, welcoming presence in Cornwall. Inside the shop, we aim to offer an inclusive and engaging experience for every customer. Most importantly we are committed to creating paid employment opportunities for autistic people and people with learning disabilities, enabling individuals to make a real difference in the local community.

Tracy Date, Chief Business Development and Enterprise Officer, said, ‘What makes this one special is how many parts of Brandon have been involved; enterprise, estates, finance, retail, comms, marketing, digital, and our operational colleagues in Cornwall, all working together to build local awareness and make it happen. It’s a real “Together, we can” moment: spotting the opportunity, making it financially sustainable, ensuring accessibility, and staying true to Brandon’s values and co-production ethos.’
