Kate Doodson, Brandon’s Chief Transformation, Performance and Digital Officer made the initial introduction following her previous work with Kier Construction. Brandon presented to Kier’s social value team who were impressed at the charity’s authenticity and commitment to the people we support.
One of Kier’s core values is collaboration, similar to Brandon’s value of involvement and that is the cornerstone of this partnership. All the activity in this partnership will be accessible for everyone, regardless of ability.
What we did together in May
Moving Through May is Kier’s annual active challenge. Doing this in a way that is inclusive and accessible isn’t always easy but the people we support had an amazing time. Our team at Harmony Road in Cornwall, said it felt like “a fantastic start to summer” and that “we can’t wait for the next one”.
There was a wide variety of activities that took place across the south-west including:
- A graffiti clean in Newquay
- A beach clean in Langdon
- A walk near Newton Abbott

Future plans and ambitions with Kier Construction
Moving through May is just the start of this partnership. Kier and Brandon are exploring further opportunities for involvement and collaboration. Including:
- A corporate volunteering day at Elm Tree Farm in September
- Visits to Kier construction sites for our supported employees
- A brewery tour social in Bristol in September
- A Santa Run in Devon in December
- Kier staff carolling around Brandon’s care homes in December
We are incredibly excited by this partnership. It will help empower autistic people and people with learning disabilities to help raise vital funds for our work.
