A summer festival of fun for all the family will mark a double celebration for Brandon Trust.
The event on Thursday 20 June (12pm – 8pm) at The Stoke Inn, Plymouth, coincides with both our 30th birthday and Learning Disability Week – the annual campaign by Mencap to raise awareness of what life is like for those living with a learning disability.
That campaign is also an opportunity for Brandon to celebrate the vital work we do in supporting, children, young people, and adults with a learning disability, autism, or both, to live as a full a life as possible in the way they choose.
Learning Disability Week: Do You See Me?
Nikki Smith, Plymouth Locality Manager for Brandon, said she was looking forward to welcoming the people we work with, the staff who support them, as well as family and friends, to what promises to be wonderful event.
“This year’s Learning Disability Week has the theme ‘Do You See Me?’ which is about not only telling the world about the challenges people with a learning disability face, but also celebrating what they bring to society,” said Nikki.
“This festival will give us the opportunity to put a similar spotlight on the truly amazing people we dedicate our professional skills to, ensuring they have a genuinely life enhancing experience in their everyday lives.
“It’s also our way of saying a big thank you to their families too and of course, our highly motivated, selfless staff members who help all the people we support to reach for their dreams and live free!”
Festival and ticket information
We are partnering with the Stoke Inn in Devonport Road in the city, to offer a great line-up of live music and a DJ, along with a fair and a host of other activities. There will also be a range of food available throughout the event.
Tickets are priced at £10 each, £20 for a family of three or £30 for a family of four. They are available to buy in advance from the Stoke Inn or our Plymouth office. You can contact our team by calling 07929 872445. Alternatively, tickets can be bought on the day.
