Sustainable Fashion Week 2023 (SFW) is fast approaching and the Brandon charity shops are once again, joining the re-wear revolution! Events, workshops, and talks will be happening all over the world and we are excited to be involved.

Mindful upcycling

We will be hosting two mindful upcycling workshops in collaboration with SFW's community programme, which runs from 25 September - 8 October.

Mindful upcycling offers the chance to unwind from everyday life and be creative. Practical processes like printing and hand sewing, can be highly therapeutic so as well as upcycling a garment, the workshops will hopefully give attendees some much needed calmness through creativity.

Eve is the assistant manager at Whiteladies Road and a lover of second-hand clothing and vintage fashion. Through her degree in Fashion Communication and by working for Brandon she has become a passionate advocate for sustainable fashion. Eve has lots of fun ideas about how you can create something meaningful and beautiful with your preloved fashion items.

Lotte is the assistant manager at our Bedminster shop and after completing her Bachelor studies in textiles, she worked in menswear and trend forecasting, running workshops and classes in many different techniques including applique storytelling, Kalim Kari painting with natural dyes and recycled weaving. She then completed a Masters in fashion and textiles where she created costumes for dance and performance.
